ΑΥ Κ Λ CΕΠ CΕYΗΡΟC Π Laureate and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right, breastplate decorated with gorgoneion. Rev. ΜΗΤΡΟ•ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛEΩC Eagle with spread wings standing front on thunderbolt, head to right and holding wreath in beak. Varbanov 1230. Varbanov, Philippopolis, XIII.37.1.2.1. A beautiful coin with an impressive portrait. Slightly smoothed and with a minor spot of corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
